  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Add the chicken pieces and toss until evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Step 2: Bowl 2: Beat the eggs.
  3. Step 3: Bowl 3: Add panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Step 4: Remove chicken from the marinade. Coat each piece in the flour mixture, dip in beaten eggs, and roll in panko breadcrumbs. Press breadcrumbs gently for a crispier texture.
  5. Step 5: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or deep fryer to 350°F. Fry the chicken in batches for 5–7 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Step 6: Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until lightly golden and fragrant (about 2 minutes). Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, and chili flakes (if using). Cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3–4 minutes.
  7. Step 7: Toss the fried chicken in the garlic sauce until evenly coated. Cook for 2–3 minutes to blend the flavors. Serve hot, garnished with green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro if desired.
